Default First passes, new car

We got the altered put together Sunday. They had a special T&T last night. It's 150" wheelbase '32 Bantam.
Mild 454 from ATK engines http://www.high-performance-engines.com/
Pg tranny
4.56 Ford 9" (wrong gear for the set-up)
33" tall tire

All the passes were footbraking a little over idle.
The car would hit the high side chip 1 car length past the 1/8 mile finish.
So I had to just ride along the 2nd half of the track.

1st pass 2nd 3rd

60' 1.593 1.563 1.358
330 4.370 4.240 3.990
1/8 6.72 6.565 6.276
mph 102.95 103.00 106.25
1000 8.979 8.691 8.422
1/4 11.438 10.750 10.448
mph 83.11 101.19 107.94

Nice looking ride, I bet that was a helluva shock from your previous cars!!!

What gear are you going with 4.10 or 3.9?

Wait til your first pass on the transbrake when that thing smacks ya back!

Very nice Good luck this year!!!

Just curious, what did you do differentley from the first 2 previous rounds?

Short times dropped from the 1.50's to 1.30's? quite an improvment.

Thx, Charles

I'm not real sure on the gear yet. We're going to make passes on the transbrake and see where it hits the chip. We might go as low as 3.73.

I was just footbraking it at a little higher rpm each time. It should improve even more on the transbrake.
