I run 9 1/2 in my 83 cutlass. It plants pretty hard. I don't see myself ever going lower than 9. Are your tires getting warmed up in the box? What kind of compound are you running?

If you can, Video tape the rear tires. Then play it back frame by frame to get the best results. I know from experience that it helps a ton. When we changed tire mfg's If was able to run way more air.

If they are slicks (not DOT's) I think I'd start at 8psi go up 1/2 pound each pass until you get the best 60' But you will need to keep the Launch RPM. I run 9psi most of the time but on a slick track 8.5 works better..

you guys might think i'm crazy buy i run 10.3/4's in my 1432's , i talked to some tire guys & was told to run as much as possible.if the tire balls up when you leave you don't have enough air.add air until it doesn't ball up & then add 1/2lb until you lose 60' then back it down a 1/2lb.jmo.good luck
