The gear drives usually are in blown applications. That I know off. The gear drives transfer alot of harmonics through the motor. The chain isnt so bad but the belt drive is FAR better in that area. Easy cam adj. I run a Jesel Belt and nothing else. My boss jeff on his Chevy Hemi has a jesel belt drive and on his 5 blower motors those are all gear drive.
Replace the belt every season!!

gear drives
O K, just so I understand this. Its O K to have harmonics in a blown engine but not a unblown? Does the cam drive know or care if it has a blower up top. My Buddies 565 broke 2 high dollar chain sets with less than 75 passes both times. Belt drive kept leaking oil. Yes, 2 of the blown cars We know run the Milodons, so that was good enough for Us and no issues. He does put down a lot more passes than me, but I feel more comfortable with the gears. Replacing 4 chains, You can have a reliable gear drive for the same money. Popping a chain aint cheap, either. :?
