Default Headers glowing and fire flying

Im running an imca stock car with a 383 non stroked chevy. Schoenfeld stepped haeders and the holley 350 carb. im having a problem with the headers glowing and flames coming out of the headers ppl around here are running around 73 for jets. usually that means the engines running lean but i put bigger jets in didnt help. went to leaner jets helped out timing is at 34 adv. any advice appreciated

bump the timing up to 36 see what that does,who long are the rods?

Yeah, you may think you have 34 degrees, but I bet it's a helluva lot less than that.

Time to find true TDC and reset that timing pointer.
