ALEXANDER, Ark. — AMP Late Model Series will return to Monticello Speedway this Saturday for $2500.00 'Kenneth Mitcham Memorial'

The AMP Series drivers will return for a special Tribute Memorial event to honor #18 Kenneth Mitcham. Last weekend 22 cars turned out for the Central Arkansas Double Header with only one driver #99 Clay Fisher suffering from mechanical failure, left 21 to start the main event. The Memorial event will pay $2500.00 to win

The current AMP Series point leader, Allen Tippen from Minden, La, ran among the top three spots throughout the entire race and finished a close second behind Beard. Jon “Catman” Mitchell brought his GRT by Catman home with a third place finish after running among the top five all evening. Ronnie Adams out of Longview, Tx, earned a respectable fourth place finish. While Russellville’s favorite driver Dewaine Hottinger took home the fifth place honors.

Several talented in-state drivers are expected to be on hand. The racing will be close on the very large quarter mile track, providing exciting racing action from the heat races through the 30-lap feature event.

Joe Garrison of Team GRT will provide the fast qualifier gift certificate award for the sum of $100.00 to the lucky racer who wins the start on the pole position for the feature event, and will also provide a “Mystery Card” to spin off into the 10th – 20th field.

Larry Shaw Racing will provide a $100.00 gift certificate award for hard charger. The lucky driver who charges through the field that advances the most positions will win the award.
