Default I hate my scoop

I really don't like the scoop on my altered. I just don't know what to replace it with. It seems to me that a scoop on an altered is just a parachute on the front of the car.
Has anyone did any testing as far as running with and with out a scoop?

I do like the looks of some of the new aerodynamic scoops but my budget is limited.
I was thinking maybe something like...

or

Or just run some sort of cool air cleaner.

I like the spitzer anteater scoop on Bantams. I saw an altered on racingjunk with one of those and it looked great to me.

You mention "with and without" a scoop. Don't attempt to make a pass without something over the carb. At speed the air going across the carb will siphon fuel up out of the carb and back onto you.

I think the anteaters are cool too, but pretty pricey.
$250 for fg and $550 for cf. Then you have to buy the airbox too. That's at least $100 through tuffpaw.

The top one above is just $109 and the black one is $195.

When I said "without a scoop" I meant with an aircleaner. Our track will not let you run with an open carb. It must have a scoop, hood, or filter on it. The siphoning effect would be really bad in a front engine car.

I totally understand, I have the equipment and knowledge to make my own airbox so that would offset the price for me, but 250 is still quite a lot. Nice ride you have though.
