I shipped a fiberglass 4 inch cowl hood for a 66 Chevy II to Canada via the UPS store. I ended up letting them box it so it wouldn't be an oversize charge and could go on the regular truck. It was $103 to Canada, so if your box isn't too big it should be a lot less inside the US.

UPS Changed the way they charge now... It used to be certain amount of total inches were allowed to determine if it was oversized or not. I went to ship out a tranny shield last week and it was pricey so I questioned why. They told me now it goes by size of box the bigger it is the more the billable weight is now, so my 6lb box was charged at 66lbs because it was bigger. I asked about the what size does it need to be so we cut it down there took a lot down and saved $6.00 he said its going to very $ to send bigger items now.

ups, fed ex- want 245-260 for a 70 fiberglass one, from ny to Illinois
i still havent got the thing- thats wayyy to much
i think you can get away with just shrink wrap on them for less money - but it was still 245-260- so i dont know what it would have been for one crated!
hell i can buy a new one for that
