I would not think the finish would know the difference between gas or alky. A lean cylinder with either fuel is going to blue the chrome.

I've not ran them on gas but have on alky carb and injection. I had one set go blue/gold terrible. There is stuff called "blue out" that works awesome to take the blue out.

Like Shawn said I wouldnt think it makes a difference.

Blue out is awesome. Turned one of our tubes right off the start last year. That stuff brought back the shine.

were can you get blue out, i bought a new set of chrome dyna techs and turned blue right away, but motor was running lean at first. Have tried every thing to get the shine back in the headers nothing seems to work, but have not tried blue out.

Default Headers

Yeah, I just hate to buy a set and then have them turn Blue right off the bat and every weekend and not be able to get it out. I would rather go coated if that was the case. I just havnt seen very many around here run them that were on gas. I do have an Chrome set on it right now that were used when I bought them (CyClones) and they were blued when I got them, but havnt gotten any worse. I would say these headers are at least 15 years old before I got them. Anyone else? Thanks guys.

Default headers

Heres a pic of the ones a friend is letting me borrow. They were on his dads old Pro Stock Car and he wants to keep them or I would buy these. Like I said they are pretty old and were blued when I got them and I ran these all of last year and still have them on the car I was just wanting to buy a new set for this year. These havnt changed any, but they may already be too bad to get any worse. Heres a pic.
