Default The impossible question to answer

I heard this riddle years ago(like 15 or so) and have not known anyone to answer it yet.I really hope someone does.

Three guys are on a hunting trip together. They stop in a motel to get a room.

The clerk says that the room will be $30

Each man pays $10 apiece for a total of $30.

The manager sees the camoflagued men going down the hall and asks the clerk how much he charged them. The clerk tells him $30,and the manager reminds him of the hunting special. It's supposed to be $25.

So the clerk is ordered to give the refund. But he can't figure out how to split $5 three ways evenly.Out of fear of causing a fight between the friends he decides to give each one of the $1 each and pocket the extra $2.

So he goes to their room,Explains the "10%" discount and how he owes them $3 and hands each of them a dollar.
OKAY So,if each man paid $10 apiece, and then recieved $1 as a refund, then they will have each spent $9 apiece.

Three men at $9 apiece equals $27

Add the $2 that the clerk pocketed and you have a grand total of $29.

What happened to the other dollar? :?

Its all in the wording, its trickery... The $27 minus the $2 equals the $25 to rent the room, then the $3 gave back to the men = $30 again!

The riddle sets you up to ad the $27 and $2 together and you need to subtract it...

Do I win???

should be: The $27 minus the $ 2 equals the $25 to rent the room, So you add the $25 (rent) + $2 (manager) + $3 (paid to men) = $30 total..

to split 5.00 is 2.00 for mng. and 1.33 and part of a penny so the 33cents left over[plus part of penny] from each dollar 3 times plus mng. 2 dollars would add the extra dollar.right?
