Can the stall speed be determined with converter out of car
Before I put my newly rebuilt engine & trans back in........
Can the best trans shop around here determine the torque converter
stall speed with the converter outside the car?
I think I got cheated.
It is was supposed to be a B& M 5,000.
I will be running a 496 this year in a 2,700 lb car with a 4.88 spool
Also my tires might need changing.
Present tires are Mickey Thompson ET Streets @ 33"dia x 18 wide @ 8psi
Best old 60 foot was a lousy 1.59
As You can see I need some help.

Torque converter
You can send it to any of the well known converter suppliers and they can rebuild it the way you want. The converter is usually a custom type of purchase. You have to supply them with alot of specs though if you want it right (weight, gear ratio etc). Call one of them and they can talk you through what they need and then ship it. They can build it to work with your combo. Without them doing the work, I don't think they can tell you much. It usually takes a couple weeks for the rebuild and shipping.

I dont think B&M makes a stall converter that high, what size is it?
The smaller size's like 8" and 9" are usually a good indication that its a high stall converter but not necessarly, if it's a 10 inch then there's noway its a 5000. JMO
