timing alcohol
I have a 468 BBC 13.1 comp. 1050 carb, it runs pretty good 17 initial and 34 all out but a little harder to start, and what rpm should it be all out at?

Total timing advance should be checked at 2500 - 3000 rpm
Depending on your cam size, you might want to lock the distributor and just set the timing at 34 – 36 degrees..

Lock the dist. out and time it at 1000 rpm or 10,000 rpm and it will be the same, 34-36 on alky is about right.

If you lock it out you will know what it is at when you drop it in. If your balancer is degreed.

I agree lock it out, my 468 liked 38 degrees timing, every motor is different.
