Bolaws & Airflow research and others use this formula
engine cubic inches X maximum RPM
~~~~~~~~~~~~3456~~~~~~~~~~~~
Example a 383 @ 7000rpm would use 775.75 carb. for a race engine and a rule of thumb is too use the next smaller size if for occasional street driving.
