Default Baby Stroker

I am in the process of building a little stroker engine...This is a 316 sb chevy...4.030 bore w/3.1 in stroke crank...going to use 6.2 rods...this is just an experiment as I have all these parts lying around...took a stock 262 crank and had it cryoed...going to run some 2.02/1.6 492 heads on the thing with a tunnel ram/weird injection setup...has anyone done one of these weird combo's before? Thanks...and yeah...I know it is a small one..just wanted to try it and see.

Never ran one, but I've seen one run.

Guy here in St. Louis had one years ago, backed with a 4-speed Lenco.

He launched it like 8500 and shifted around 11k (or so he said, and it surely sounded like it too).

It ran like a scalded dog.

It was in a full tube chassis 67 Camaro... I seem to remember mid 8s?

But, it did have a set of aluminum heads, although I'm not sure which.

Had a friend 20 yrs. ago running a 288" Nickens motor in a 2350lb X ProStock car, but with alum heads and 2 660 carbs, would run 8.80@163 all day long. comming out petal on the metal and shifting a lenco @ 9500. Real impressive car in it's day.

Zip.

i think gm did -(in a way)--- 283/ 327,--- high rpm motors-
kinda like a import (sowing machine)-

performance is performance-- "as long as i get there first, and faster"

Well...I don't want to run 11-13 thousand rpm!...But I have a set of motown 220's with a 54 cc chamber...would this help in the upper rpm range? We usually exit the turns running 3500-3800---- this is a flat top engine at this time ...but I have some 12.5-1 domes lying around I could use....we only run 10-12 times a year....so will get torn down after the season.....

if your staying under 7k rpm, why not keep it a 350? your just loosing tq by de-stroking it.
