Default Yaks!!, building a RAT, i can't believe it

Well we all know S/BLKs are better, but i got roped into building a Rat for a friend of mine. Here's what i came up with since he only want's to run S/ST (10.90 index) car pics. below. I think the motor should make 650hP that what it should take to run 10.40 with this car @3700lbs with driver. These parts were laying around, all used.

454"+ .100= 476"
lanati steel 4.00 crank
JE 13.00 to 1
lanati 50222 roller 2.76in2.84ex .722lift
brodix 2's
10.50 dom
turbo 400
4.56 gears
4 link 14X32's

Car has been 9.40's with bigger motor on nitrous.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

How long has it been since you saw a 1966 biscuyne at the track?

Dispelling the myth that all redneck rides are pickups with the AC mounted in the sliding back window.Street driven anywhere, when it's not nasty weather ofcourse. Hood and side panels removed for pics.

Another daily driver 55 for sale will be at super chevy Baton Rouge Feb 22nd.

69 in progress.

I think you are under-estamating that engine combo,it'll be more like 750-800 hp :P

Tom,
Comming from you that's a big compliment. I haven't built a RAT in years and i know if it produces 650 plus it will run below 10.50. I just degree'd in the cam today and put it in 2 degrees advanced at 108. It's split 110 as ground and this thing is a lead sled for sure and i figure it will need all the torque i can give it.
The car will run at Super Chevy feb. 22nd. i'll post the results.

I agree more like 700-750hp instead of 650. This is a good combo.

Hey BJ,
All these parts are used, in fact the crank is -.020 rods and -.010 mains and #5 and #6 rods have 1/2" 12 point bolt heads while the other 6 have 7/16". i've already got it together, waiting on heads to come back from valve job. Should be installed by friday or sat.
The only thing new is rings and bearings, plus some bolt ons. This motor once went 7.90 in a dragster on alcohol some time ago. like i said this is a tossed together motor (balanced ofcourse) just to make the super Chevy show in Baton Rouge Feb 22nd.

Zip it's about time you grew up and saw the light. I had a '69 Camaro I used to run S/ST, HR with that weighed 2890 with my fat butt in it and it had almost the sane identical motor in it and it ran 9.40's in the quarter and 6-teen's in the 1/8th with a 4.88 gear and a power glide trans. It ran 5.30 in my daughter's 4 link dragster and is on the motor stand as a spare now. I do have the short block for sale.
