I've been looking around here and there for a 454 block, 2 bolt or 4 bolt virgin to 60 over. I've found some good deals and they are gone when I get there the other ones I find seem to be more $ then I think they are worth, what do you guys think a 454 block is worth now days ?

I been looking to spend 250-300 for a 2bolt and 350-400 for 4 bolt, a year ago I found several this year nothing when I want it. am I being to cheap or are they just wanting to much ?

i haven't been lucky enough to find any b/b bare for less than $500.00 minimum. i have a 2 427 tall decks .they both need fully machined but i have $700.00 in each one.

I'd really like to stay with short deck have parts for it. Looks like i better keep looking and maybe raise my limits.

Around here in MN a complete Gen IV 2 bolt engine goes from 500-600 depending if it has 049 or 781 heads on it, and a 4 bolt block is around 700 plus. Good luck.

I got 3 short deck blocks for ya. 1 is a 100% virgin 1973 and the other is .030 and main studded. 500$ each. OR, got a bowtie block that is 4.600 needs to go to 4.630. that 1 is 700$ or cheaper it has a small battle wound which has been repaired. I finally came up a little on what I wanted to give and think I got a good deal from a local machine shop I use. 454 4 bolt block, bored 60 over just need finish honed. Has new cam bearing,freeze plugs and arp main cap bolts. Picked it up for $550.00 and saves me all the machine work
