Default blower nos question

i have a 871 blown 468 all good stuff copper gaskets etc 16 psi boost 2 dominators,my question is i have 1 dominator nos plate laying around i was thinking of putting it on to spray 150 shot to cool charge,do you think using 1 plate would cause distribution problems,i mean its goimg through a blender into a totally open manifold.it is a gas setup.let me know your thoughts, and if anyone out there has tried this.

It's been done before but 2 works better and your linkage, etc still line up correctly. With 2 you can actually stagger the front and the back to fine tune it a little to compensate for the blower air flow.

You need two IMHO. A blower doesn't blend as much as one would think. I run one system with two plates. Just remember to jet each plate accordingly. In other words if you want 150hp, then jet each plate at 75hp. Also remember that you get a lot more bang for your buck with nitrous on a blower because it is cooling that charge and increasing the efficiency of the blower. A 150 shot ends up being more like a 200+ shot.

Hi Dave, Welcome to the board!!!

so you think this would be ok with a small shot like 150,i was going to ad a 1/2 inch spacer to other carb.i am shure 2 would be better.

75-80hp shot total between two plates got me a .160 improvement in the 1/8th mile alone, and the short time fell off 2/100ths because I wadded up the tire. Car is 3300lb with me, 383 SBC with 11 lbs, TH400 off the brake.

A blower significantly heats up the intake charge, nitrous cools it back down and acts as an intercooler. A little bottle goes a long way with a blower.

Here are the two passes back to back:

Pass #1
83 degrees / 35% humidity / 2268 corrected altitiude
.572 r/t
1.412 60'
4.168 330'
6.484 1/8
105.53 mph

Pass #2 with 75hp shot of nitrous
85 degrees / 35% humidity / 2402 corrected altitude
.618 r/t
1.436 60'
4.117 330'
6.324 1/8
111.35 mph

why don't you check with BDS on their "SUPERCHILLER"...There are many out here that doesn't realize you can INTERCOOL a roots type blower..it may be a little more expensive than the NOS method...but as they say you get what you pay for...IMO..

Default chiller

the chiller is so expensive and it raises blower 4 inches which means longer belt ,carb linkage, plus the plunbing, another water pump and tank.i just thought a small shot of nos would be cheap and simple since i already have a kit laying around.
