"Splayed" refers to a term that is used to describe the outter bolts on some 4 bolt main caps, the bolts will be at an angle or canted instead of straight.
Most oem 4 bolt blocks are not splayed but rather straight.
Most after-market billet main caps that you have installed on a 2 bolt block will be splayed. suppose to have better retaining strenght than a straight bolt.

We machine alot of blocks for splayed caps both 4 bolt and 2 bolt blocks as it ties the the main webbing and the pan rails together making a good foundation for a high horse power apllication.
