How much hp will arp 2000 take?
How much hp will arp L19 take?
Is there any other upgrades I should do?

After you do research into the traits of the metal alloys you may be happier you bough the ARP2000 bolts. I never buy l19. I guess it is a matter of personal preference or possibly from not doing research but listening to your buddies etc.

ARP2000 Bolts are sold for using in 3,000 hp blown cars with alum rods. If you break a correctly bolt stretched ARP2000 bolt, I will assure you the L19 would have also broken. L19 is rated at a slightly higher tensile strength than the ARP2000 is.

Best but costly is the ARP Custom Age 625.

I'd spend the money on different heads it'll be money well spent. Is this a street motor with the flat tops ? I cant say as if Id be crazy about tossing 300 hit to them parts. Just my 2 cents though

After warranting two motors last year with Dyer rods and ARP2000 bolts, one of which broke on my dyno, we use only the ARP Custom Age 625 bolts. the yield strength on 2000 is 180,000 lbs and the 625 is 235,000-255,000.I would much rather pay more for bolts and not worry about one breaking. Both of the 2000 bolts that broke were new and had the correct stretch.
If you change to a higher strength bolt that requires more torque you need to resize the big end of the rod as it will go out of round with the higher torque.Bill

OK good to know the 2000 are better than the H beams
This is a crate street engine built in 03 for truck pulling dyno time only
never run ,I bought 2 months ago, got it cheap.
I bought the 2000 bolts cause I thought they were the best and a nesisary upgrage for NOS
NO money for NOS or heads I am just tring to prep for nos
last two months spent every dime on engine and triing to get it in 6al, fule system, billet converter and on and on

What parts are not good enough for NOS ? 300 to 500 hit
dart 10.2 block, dart 308 heads arp head bolts with extra studs, JE flat tops, eagle H beams arp 2000 ,MLS Head gaskit, splayed mains with arp bolts not studs. geared timeing dont know what brand
I want to hit 1000 hp or more on pump gas
    Thanks

I use ARP 2000 rod bolts in my blown alky SBC and it is estimated at over 1600 hp and I have never had a problem with them,I use eagle H beam rods also.I see you are using MLS head Gaskets, they work fine, but when you do a freshen up on the motor,I would oring the block and put a receiver groove in the head and use copper head gaskets,I have had very good luck with doing this on high HP motors. Good Luck
