bowtie block?

Default bowtie block?

how does the bowtie sportsman bbc compare to a dart,or merlin block?can you get pistons to fit the 4.494 bore or would it be better just to go to 4.500?

They are nice blocks. The Dart is still the mack daddy of iron aftermarket blocks, for a lot of reasons, but that Bowtie block is a nice piece. That 4.494 bore, is ready to be finished honed to 4.5, it is not ready to run

The GM Bowtie Sportsman block compares to the Dart BIG-M Sportsman block and the last GM block we bought was only 1700 dollars to the door.

Possible they are selling Dart blocks, with chevy bowties cast on them? What is your thoughts on that Carl?

I would have to say no as the Bowties seem to be a much cleaner casting on the outside coampared to a Dart as they may come from the same foundry.
