Default BOUNCING FUEL GAUGE

Just put together a sbc in a street/strip car , now we have noticed the fuel pressure gauge bouncing. 950 demon carb with magnafuel prostar 500 pump with adjustable pressure and 2 port regulator. checked everything for dirt or sticking bits but still does it, anyone had this happen before, still haven't ruled out faulty gauge(new).

If it's a liquid filled gauge, that's most likely the problem.

It's an autometer but not liquid filled, i'll try a different gauge and see what happens.

If it's not the guage, check for flow through the filter or obstructions at the fuel bung . I've seen pump cavitation (sucking air) cause this same scenario. Also how large are the inlet and oulet fuel lines. Never have a smaller inlet than outlet. Just my $.02
