Default c6 nightmare

Can anybody help me to set up a c6 to handle mud drag racing in a 4x4 truck. I have 1000 hp 700+ torque, just put in a quote "professionally built" trans and new torque converter. Blew it up in 1st pass. I haven't pulled it out yet, but had fire coming out of the bottom of bell housing. Believe converter let go. i will get it apart today and will know more. My trans man thinks I am over powering it. any help would be appreciated!

there are many things to be done, like clutch clearances, clutch type used, steels used, roller bearing or washer used will afect end play..also what most people dont know and check is the rear and then overall end play..if your using a trans brake the manufactor of the brake may want the clearances set to his spec..and if any holes in the direct drum need to be drilled ect..very hard to help online..also when you install it make sure there is 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch endplay from the tork to the ring gear(flywheel)...
