It happens to me all the time..it seems the large parts are cheap, but anything small I get shafted on...mirrors/handles/dash pads..funny thing it's parts for my blazer also...I started taking in the new part price and asking what they will charge. I think they just guess sometimes.

You may not pass tech inspection without the handle.....just a thought. Maybe they know you need one more than you think. What if they cant get you out the car because there is no handle. I think the guy at your junkyard is a tech inspector.

Mark,

These guys figure they have you by the...well, anyway, I saw a guy go in a get a part and was charged over $100.00 by the guy running the yard.
The buyer said he could go through Summit for half of that, the yard guy told him to go order it...he knew this guy needed it then and he could reem him in the process.

And yes I am sure it has happened to me as well as all of us that have ever bought from a junk yard.

Yeah those small town junkyards have people by the b@lls, literally.
Thankfully I live near a big city (memphis, Tn) and I can scour the yards and shop around for the best price. I got a seat belt assembly for my wifes explorer for $10 bucks< it was over $100 from the dealer, and get this I even found the exact color. Charles
