Default Help to identify GM heads

My brother has a BBC468 but we would like to know what type of heads is on it. I am not sure if you can look at a BBC head and tell like you can with a SBC you know double hump heads. We would like to know if they are oval or rectangle. I have seen where they say rectangle is the better of the two for performance. If any one could tell us would be great. The picture of the engine is in show off under woodsman's brother truck. Thanks for any help you can give.

You'd need the casting numbers on the heads for a better reply, look under the valve covers and you'll see a number on the heads

Then you can look them up on www.mortec.com

Can't always tell from the intake manifold, but it is a square port intake and the block is a short deck blk. The reason you tell from the manifold is that a square port will work on a round port head but not the opposite.
