If a sbc has 12 pounds at idle hot (700rpms 180 deg) and 30-35 cruising (14-1600 rpm) and 50 anything over 4k does this make it bad. The motor is new and yes at a idle I would agree it is low(but its a chevy)when its hot but in no way do I think the motor is hurt. as I was always told 7 psi per 1000 rpm is min and fine. The thing runs drives sounds great. Also I could turn it up to 900 and it sits at 20 at idle.
Also if it matters it has a relocated oil filter with big bradded lines that I was told could also lower the pressure trying to puss the oil threw them big lines #6 bradded lines over 5ft each.
#6 braided for remote mount, is too small. Minimum should be #10
Would that cause it to be low and also it is 8 not 6 I ment #8. But still is that to small and would it cause that. Im not worried really because it runs and drives great with no prob and sounds great no noise but I had a guy come look at it to buy it and he thought it was to low and did not buy it only for that reason only. Hell I even dropped our agread price 2k right there just incase there was a prob and 2k would cover it. But its brand new and I just want other oppinions
LOW OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE ON MOST CHEVIES IS NOT A PROBLEM JUST AS LONG AS 35-40 POUNDS IS ACHEIVED AT CRUISING SPEED--AND IT DOESN'T FALL OFF ABOVE THAT--MY SBF RUNS 15- 20 AT IDLE AND 40-50- AT CRUISING SPEED AND I HAVE OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT WITH NO PROBLEM--GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOU GET IT SOLD AND IT WAS GREAT YOU WERE HONEST WITH THAT BUYER 8)
