bbc oiling problems stumpped help!!!!!!!
a buddy has a gen v block with gen iv heads i think 219 closed chambered recs anyway . he ran it all last year and never noticed until now that it holds about 60 psi when off idle when hot then 20-25 idling when hot.. but if he runs it up in rpm like 3500 and more it drops from 60 to about 25psi instantly. he has tried three gauges all read the same . he has a melling high volume with moroso 7 qt pan with kick out and trap door. and running the proper pickup that moroso gave with pan.. . any help would be greatful befor we yank engine for inspection.. thanks guy for all help future and present..

The easy one could be that it is a bad oil filter that is not flowing enough or coming apart inside.
The other thing that I would be looking for would be a crack in the oil pump pickup tube or that the pickup has broken off.
