Yup just like Jody said. Mine WILL NOT stay in 1st if the solenoid isn't wired. Mine is set so the msd switch cuts the ground circuit and the spring shoves the shifter fwd. Mine is a Hurst Quarter stick. A friend of mines is a lot older and his is different. His the solenoid pushes the shifter fwd not the spring.
