I don't think the locked distributor is the cause. With the engine off slowly open the throttle and watch to see if you lose accelerator shot. Could possibly need an idle bleed change, checking for vacuum leak is not a bad idea though. jmarkaudio (Mark Whitener) on here is pretty good with dominators.
