Depending on what set up you have there is probably nothing wrong with it. The pressure plate probably uses a light base pressure and has counter-weighted levers that increase pressure as the RPM increases. There are a lot of different Hayes clutches and would need more info on what you have to know. A good performance clutch slips some but driving it around at low speeds and slipping it like that will ruin it.
