I would not put the relays near the battery. I would put the relays near the device being powered. It is common to have a large capacity wire from the battery to a junction post near the starter and then branching off of that for all the devises from there. Then you can have a lighter control wire from your switch box to turn on the relays. 40 amp relays are common.
