Definately do something in the thermostat housing such as restricting the flow. I use a restrictor washer with a 3/8" hole to slow down the water flow, giving it more time to cool in the radiator, when i run gas. but most of the time i run alcohol where i have no cooling problem.

Zip can you confirm that 3/8" was a typo if so I am going to get the little moroso kit that comes with 5/8",3/4" an 1" and use the 5/8" in mine because at the moment I don't have anything in it now.
