ha ha ha, its no excuse cause the car runs like a champ, but this is the
second time on a 3.1 with 80k miles and changed to syn oil mobil one
and the oil ate the crank seals, on the intake, the oil comes out as fast
as you pour it in, man this motor runs great and realy saves gas, so
i would not like to change it out, in fear i won't get the same gas milage.
heard on a car-repair radio show and a guy called in with the same
problem after switching to syn oil, Steve Gurlien is a master mechanic
here and told the guy the oil ate the seals and that this happened to
some older cars that were not made to take the syn oil, and it happened
twice for me, same leaks in the same time, never would have thought.
and if your going replace all the seals, might as well overhaul, but
the crate turned out to be cheaper by a grand :wink:
never a bad idea for a bigger camshaft :lol:
