Dart oval port intake vs C454 Edelbrock intake
Current engine is a 557in bbc running pump gas. 11-1 +/= on the compression, 731/714 lift 270ish duration solid roller, Older Dart 310 heads with 2.300 intake valves,Pro systems 1050, crank trigger ign, glide with 3800 stall, back half car with 4.86 gears. Car weighs 3250 with me in it. Current intake is a Oval port intake port matched to the old 781 headed 489. Car runs decent with a best of 9.71/137 with a 1.37 60 on a hot day. Looking to pick it up some to do some 9.60 index racing. Have a C454 intake laying around the shop and was wondering if it would run better with it being a square port intake, Anybody done any this type of testing?
