I agree with what everybody is telling you! But you seem to have your mind made up. I would only say, buy a car that you have seen run before, that way you'll know what it can do. And it should be pretty much already set up suspension wise. And if you can get the former owner to help you, exspecially in the pits, you'll be money ahead, and a lot less frustrated.
