On the side subject of Gateway track, I talked to a knowledable person two weeks ago and he said it is tied up in several million dollars of back taxes and tax abaitments to the city of Madison, IL. Unless the city forgives these, it probably can't come back any time soon. He also said the circle track really was the problem of the taxes and if it was torn down it might make the dragstrip more possible as well as give back much needed parking for big events.
He also did not have anything hopeful to say about the various groups trying to put together plans for a track to replace Gateway.
