It all depends, camshaft, cylinder head, intake manifold, carburetor and compression play a huge factor in where the engine will make peak power, and how long it will carry that peak power.
1 bad part in the
COMBINATION of these components will make the engine suffer.
We build 383s for drag race and circle track designed to run 8000-8200 RPM.
Good heads, AFR, Dart, RHS, Brodix and Edelbrock are not to bad.
