I traded my '02 JD 790 tractor 4wd, loader, and several implements for the '71 Vega. I had been looking at Vegas, his was priced accordingly, around $12-$13k tk, (this was two years ago). The Vega was supposed to have had a new motor in it, it didn't. It was supposed to be a show car, it wasn't. It is 50% my fault for not looking at the car closer than I did when it arrived. The car was delivered before my tractor left, the jerk off knew I was having some friends over and cooking steaks on the grill etc., got me with the 'ole I got to go to bfe (not sure where), by dark. I kind of left the responsibility of unloading the car to my buds, I was busy with the grilling and crap. The motor was junk, supposed to have been a relatively new, but a little dirty 383. It was your everyday run of the mill 350, smoked like a freight train after it got hot. I guess it could be the valve seals, never got that far.....Not long after that I thought I heard a rod knocking!! Yep, nice motor Keith. Supposed to be th400, it was a 350. The rear end was pretty nice though, 12 bolt posi, geared low, around 410 or so (I guess). I had to cut the right front wheel off of it, had it welded onto the front of the stud because it was stripped out (the rotor stud slot). Spray bombed, instruments inop, (except tach). The body was actually pretty nice, a few bad spots on the paint, but not terrible. My tractors value was at that time around $12-13k with the implements.
What I took away from this was a renewed respect for how easily a man that has never been scammed before can be taken. I am no idiot, I made a MAJOR mistake in letting my guard down. I had been lucky enough in my life to have not been screwed bad enough to remember the pain.........I assume that is why I didn't look closer at the car when it arrived.
I will bet my golden goose it can't be done again though!

A guy from AZ. bought it, loves the car. Thankfully the motor stayed together long enough to load onto the transporter! Yes, the buyer knew the motor was a pos.

I sold the car for a whopping $5500 :!: :!:
I subtracted that from the value of my tractot at $12k, came up with $6500 worth of screwing from Keith.

Traderguythethief,
I know you are reading this you azzhole, I want you to know I will be there all the time for you. That $6500 bought you a whole lifetime of free publicity from me. I hope you enjoy it :!:
