I am a calibration technician and my tools are all calibrated. If I measure the journal on a crankshaft, I know that the measurement is accurate. My torque wrench is also calibrated. Having equipment that doesn't give you accurate readings is useless. Even if you know what you are doing, without the correct and accurate tools, you are taking a chance. That is why I would trust a professional, but I would check on his ability to make good measurements. JMO.
Where do you take your tools to be calibrated? I got ta torque wrench that needs to be calibrated and dont know where to take it.
