That guy is full of it, he knew it wasn't a 383 if he had it freshed.
His B/S was just a selling line to get a trade for something of more value.
I hope he owns up dude but I'm betting he won't.
Just for the record -200,000 miles and rear main leaks don't go together, I have over 255,000 on my 95 suburban. It does use a little between oil changes (about a quart) but it has no leaks, its all about the maintenance.
Thought I'd throw that in there just for the hell of it.
