tod, absolutly. everyone should own a home after they make the life style choice to save the money for the down payment. to often today people spend there money on crap . I lived in and apartment in a building i ran for four years , had two jobs & worked six and sometimes seven days a week . When i bought my house the interest rate was 13 percent , It was hard to make the payments at that time(no new cars & expensive anything). what i am getting at is WHEN YA BUST YOUR ASS TO SAVE FOR SOMTHING YA AINT GONNA LET IT GO. from about 2002 we get people comming in to rent apartments that have crap credit 3 & 4 evictions (have bought stuff and never even made a single payment). we turn them down and there response is ( are you for real?). people have got use to getting something for nothing , its no wonder why things are the way they are. in cook county now when we get a tenant that does not pay the rent it takes about five to six months to get them out because the courts & sheriffs dept feel sorry for the deadbeat. we had to lay off a couple of guys just to make gas bills taxes and all the other expenses. how the hell does cook county think we can pay the realestate taxes without people paying the rent for six months? :? :?
