David,

You know wayne Horton, his 4 link car, 1880 lbs went 7.0's @ 188
with a cast single 4, 2.4" valve version of the RFD 24* head on a
598" aluminum block, made 1020 on a land & sea dyno. Terminator injection on alky.
We are porting the intake and taking some of the conservative out
of the car set up so it should be able to run a 6, but maybe not in
the heat. It IS a bracket car, ..

The 1098 hp engine is in a 2000lb tank, um I mean dragster, ..
should run this coming week end but don't expect much in the heat.
The 1098 number comes from a depac dyno, fairly conservative.

Trade ins, .. well not really, but you know I've offered to help you
out before, .. I can make your 385's do that.

OK back on subject here, .. Iron heads on a mudder, I assume you
are allowed to port them?
Typical mud builds are engines that see a bunch of rpm, have fully
ported heads & intakes etc. I'd start with the Dart 345 head and have them
ported, you'll need at least 430 cfm..
you'll need a super victor with some porting or you could try a Merlin X intake.
You'll need to contact Patrick at Pro-systems carbs and get one of
his 1600 cfm monsters, .. good custom roller cam.

You should be able to make 1000+ hp.

hope this helps.
