This trooper did everything by the book. A lot of people don't understand that when you are pulled over and issued a citation you are under arrest for a misdemeanor crime whether it be speeding or running a stop sign. Under the law, a police officer can arrest you if a misdemeanor is committed in his or her presence. And the reason you don't go to jail is that you sign the ticket to promise to appear as I am sure the trooper explained to him. It is not an admission of guilt, it is just a promise to appear. That's why we have courts, to state your case, tell your side. If you watch the last part of the video you see the subject putting his hands in his pockets and he is walking back to his car. What if he had pulled out a gun and shot that trooper??? THANK GOD HE HAD A TASER. IT COULD HAVE ESCALATED INTO DEADLY FORCE IN A BLINK. I think the taser is the one of the greatest tools ever made for law enforcement. IT WORKS!!!!
