It is going to be on a budget at first so if you guys could lend me a bit of your knowledge, it would at least save me some money getting the right chassis set up to start out with. Looking to purchase a used roller and install my engine setup and go racing. Sounds easy doesn't it. Yeh right. Thanks in advance. I personally would go with a 245 to 255" car with some shocks the long wheel base will help with that kind of Horsepower. The shocks will help in a few different way 1- Stopping the car a suspended car will not bounce like a hardtail or slipjoint car will. 2. They are far easier to tune 3. A suspended car will go down every track a hardtail will not. In your case I really like it for the stopping ability. When buying a used car the key things to look at it year I'd by something in the 2000's if money is there the newer the better, 2nd thing ask the owners if it was trailered with a chassis pad, if not pass on it 1 trip home from the track without one is like 500 passes down the track, 3rd comfort in the cockpit a major thing I wont buy a car with under a 22" cage and I am not a very big guy need to be able to get the shoulder down in the seat to many guys can not do this. Shouldnt take 1500hp to send a 1900lb dragster into the high 6's 1150hp goes 7.1's @ 2000lbs.
