Question on backing the rocker arms off.

I was watching a friend take his rocker arms loose for the winter.He didn't take the spark plugs out and was turning the engine to get pressure off of each rocker and when he got one side finished...

I was wondering if you can take a BBC and sleeve all the cylinders bigger to a 4.500-4.600 bore.Mainly asking about a 427 tall deck block and getting 572-598ci. out of it.I know that it is not...

SPARK PLUG HEAT RANGE

This is just something i have been thinking about.If spark plugs have been a heat range off,just a shade cold and you put a hotter range in would it be worth any power.I know it needs the right heat...

What do you guys think about taking a phenolic carb spacer and milling an angle on it to make the carburetor sit level.Will it mess with any tuning or the way it runs,and should the carb be perfectly...

I ordered a carb from Pro-Systems and now see that everyone says talk to Patrick.Well the guy i ordered from wasn't Patrick it was another guy.I hope that doesn't matter does it!!!!

Where would you run your timing on a 14.8-1 620" BBC and be safe.It is carburated on gas and n/a.Thanks

Piston to head clearance

On a 620" BB Chevy is .045-.050 enough piston to head clearance with steel rods.The bore is 4.560.Thanks

I have one of their 4.750 billet cranks and i-beam rods.The crank was a very nice piece with a very nice mirror finish and the rods don't look bad either.The machine work on the block was very good...

Extra head bolts on Merlin block

Just wondering if it is worth using the extra two head bolts per side in the lifter valley on the merlin blocks.On the merlin block the maximum torque on those lugs is only 35ft.lbs so i didn't know...

On a 15.1 BBC would the regular Fel-Pro head gaskets be ok or would i need the Fel-Pro MLS gaskets.The bore size is 4.560 and the regular Fel-Pro gasket # is 1057.This is a N/A motor.Thanks

On a 620ci. chevy (4.750 stroke steel rods and 4.560 bore ) would you shoot for .003 or .004 rod and main bearing clearance.Max rpm on this engine will be 6500.Thanks

I was wondering if the Moroso blueprinted oil pump #22162 has more clearance (crank and rod to oil pump) than the stock Melling # M77HV for 4.750 stroke chevy big blocks.I know about all the better...

What starter to buy

What kind of starter would you buy for a 15.1 632ci.I have the small CVR starter that has been a great starter but it doen't have the power to turn this engine fast enough and start it.Just wondering...
