Hey guys,I got my new 383 sbc from NYES AUTOMOTIVE the other day.I got the motor 1 month after ordering it from PAT.I think for 4k ,IT dynoed out at 451.8hp.I tell you,PAT is a first rate guy.HE answered any questions I had.Now,it goes in my wifes 72 firebird!

not too shabby (451)..is it a street Engine ?..i have a 406ci that only made 460hp..but its only 10:1 compression iron heads (iron eagle) just a little bowl blend, flat tappet 520 lift cam...off the shelf 750 carb ( with horn)

tell us a little more about that 383ci you have...sounds like a good piece !

Its a 4bolt main block 10.5 to 1 cr with alum heads,2.02 int.valves,comp cam with 526 lift.It has a eagle crank ,alum intake with a 750dp holly.I think for the money,4k,I thought it is a good deal.I heard good things about NYES on the forum and looked into them.FISHMANJOE

I agree you done very well for 4k and yes Nyes is well known for great Service..I walked thru their shop about 4 years ago.

My engine guy said my 406ci could reach the 600hp mark with a Bigger camshaft and bumping up the compression to From 10:1 to 12:1.

Looks like your 383 has the same potential with little changes...thats a great thing.

slap it on another dyno it'd be closer to 500 thats another perk of Nyes shop

I don't want my wife getting any ideas about this motor in her car.She just might want get crazy and may want to run me with my bb el camino.
