WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF GOING TO COILOVER SHOCKS AND HOW DO I KNOW WHAT ONE'S TO GET FOR MY 86 SS MONTE CARLO?

Typically you'll get the adjustability with a coil over shock. Some are single adjustable and some are double adjustable.
