Ford Maverick set-back measurements.

Hi everyone.
Getting some specs together for a 25.2 SFI for my 72 Ford Maverick.

Heres some data, wheelbase-102inches, BBF/Auto,. 16X33-15 tires
Car will be a 4-link, full round tube. I have 25 3/4" from the door opening to rear axle center-line. So Im looking at a 20 - 24 " back-space 4- link. Which length should I go with considering the wheelbase. Plus Im big, 5ft-11"
I sat recently in a un-cut stock suspended maverick with roll-bar at the door opening,(24"+ -"), and had plenty of room. But I feel like I should still be farther back, for weight distribution.
Would 20 or 22 inchers be too violent?Vp race cars said 24" was the norm for them. Even though they sell shorter ones also.
Would like to hear from folks whom been in this senario, (short wheelbase, etc)
Thanks.
Al
