oliver or bill miller rods

Which rods should I use in a 632? It will be used to drive about 2 miles on the street to cruise nights 2 times a month and race at the track maybe 7 times in a year. The car will be mostly a show car but it will still have about 1200 hp on motor. If I use oliver rods I will use diamond pistons and if I use bill miller I will use his pistons. I had the car two years and I only put about 400 miles on it and 300 of that was in the first month.

Unless you plan to run extreme RPM's stick with steel. Oliver, Carillo, Crower, any would work.

About 7000-7300 rpms. Bill Miller says that the aluminum is actually stronger but I would expect them to say that. If I get everything from Bill they said it would be about $2400.

Both a high quality steel and aluminum rod will work but the aluminum is more insurance

X2 all my td/ts buddies replaced alum rods every winter, some before that. Which seems to be common thing with alum rods. A steel rod you dont worry about that.

I have Oliver's in my SB2 and no issues, the only thing I would recommend is to upgrade the bolts on any of the brands. Getting ready to order a set for a 460ci small block with SB2 heads. Should be $1300 plus the bolt upgrade for big block Oliver's.
