you need to find out what crank is in it , rods etc.
usually those engines , fresh with oil pump and pan making 750 hp would go for about $5500-$6000 with base internals, Eagle stuff etc.
and the heads are really not that much $$

what altune said i agree with..

i want to add to this you can get a 540/565/582 all standard deck short blocks brand new and assembled for about 5600........depending on the type heads you settle on ( coventional) you can buy a complete set for right at 3500..or so......

do not get coned into paying someone worth more than what a set up is worth just because they got took by someone else.
