cam for 406 build
 
i am building a 406 for the street. it has srp forgedflat top pistons 6" scat h-beam rods eagle 4340 forged crank with motown 72cc heads with a victor jr intake toped off with a holley 750 street hp carb think it will have around 10:5 cc was wondering what cam would be best for this set up will take to track on weekends 1/8 mile also it is in a 1980 chevy trk with 4:10 gears with 350 turbo 3500 stall with 305/50 mt street raidials

Comp magnum 285, .555 lift intake and exhaust, dont remember duration. Its a flat tappet cam, if you can afford go roller.

YOUR IN LUCK I HAVE THE COMP CAM & LIFTERS OUT OF MY 406 UP FOR SALE 280/292 507/510 HYDRULIC FLAT TAPPET .THE CAM AND LIFTERS LOOK BRAND NEW AND ARE IN GREAT SHAPE ACCORDING TO MY ENGINE BUILDER,I WENT TO A SOLID ROLLER CAM.IF YOU WANT I CAN GET THE EXACT SPECS OFF THE CAM CARD IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.THIS CAM AND A DECENT SET OF HEADS WENT MID 11'S ALL DAY IN MY 86 MONTE CARLO AND I DROVE IT ON THE STREET.

It worked great, had this cam in a two different 406's both in 80's chevy trucks. One engine was running 12.80s and the other was in the mid 11's, both naturally aspirated.
