Slow MCSS

I bracket race a 86 MCSS. I run 1/8 mile in ohio. It has a flat top 355, 202 , 58 cc, 170 port heads, roller rockers, victor jr , 750 dp, hei with msd 6al, hooker comp headers, electric fan and water pump , th350 with manual valve body, 3000 stall, trick springs , comp 3 way shocks, 4-10 gears, 28-10.5 slicks, skinnys on front, shift at 5500, 60 foot 2.0, timing at 38 degrees, car is stripped I guess weight about 3000 lbs. My problem is the best I have ran is 8.85, I think it should be better. Can y'all help me???

im no expert but would say more gears and if your cam can work in higher rpms then more throttle but im not a pro and some one else may say something else who is more educated it the area

FOR 1/8 YOU NEED MORE GEAR, 4.88 WOULD WAKE IT UP

when you say you have 58cc heads are you saying that you are running heads from a 305eng? how about the specs on the cam? what rpm are you leaving at?

I would advise you to get a higher stall converter, a set of heads and some gears. Put the thing on a diet, fiberglass anything you can.

The cam is a summit 234/244 - 488/510 lift , the heads are new not 305s, I beleive they are pro comps. I leave at 2000 and shift into 3 gear at the line. I am planning on a fuel cell and electrick fuel pump over the winter and installing 2 batteries in the trunk. I am on a tight budget as I figure a lot of us are can y'all guide me toward a better set of heads ? Sorry I have not got back sooner but I have been away. Take Care gunslnger
